Terrestrial Research and Conservation

For a country that is predominantly desert, Oman enjoys an incredible wealth of biodiversity with a great variety of flora and fauna.  Oman’s abundant wildlife is vital to the livelihood of many local communities but is unfortunately under threat from littering, pollution, habitat loss, over fishing and climate change.

ESO undertakes pioneering terrestrial researches to inform conservation initiatives designed to protect the threatened and endangered species found in Oman.  We aim to raise awareness and advocate for the adoption of critical conservation measures across society and are committed to developing the capacity of Oman’s next generation of environmental conservationists.
