Corporate Communications Manager
 

Summary
 

To create, develop and implement a brand new Communications and Fundraising Strategy for the Environment Society of Oman. This role would involve identifying opportunities for fundraising through communication with donors and volunteers interested in fundraising for environmental initiatives. Building and maintaining a rapport with corporate and private entity donors. Drafting proposals for long-term organizational financial sustainability. Organizing activities to raise funds and gather in-kind donations. Develop content and promotional materials to raise awareness of the organization's work, goals, and financial needs. This position reports to the Executive Director.
 

Job Description
 

  1. Compile and maintain a database of local and international donor organizations (international foundations, local hotels, private businesses and corporate entities offering donations)
  2. Assist the Executive Director in writing concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensure their timely submission.
  3. Create and implement a fundraising strategy for ESO for both short and long terms
  4. Create and maintain ESO Stakeholder Engagement Plan
  5. Identify various sources to generate income and alternative resources for long-term sustainability of the organization
  6. Ensure ESO website, social media , annual report and press releases deliver promised exposure to donors and remain up to date and informative of ESO’s activities
  7. Build rapport with potential corporate and individual donors and develop strategies to encourage increased contributions.
  8. Maintain relationships with existing donors and respond to their requests regularly and keep updating them about the work of the organization and be innovative at keeping their interest.
  9. Assist in organizing ESO fundraising events, and recruit sponsors and donors. Monitor progress of fundraising drives.
  10. Be the focal point for communication with project sponsors and corporate members, draft communication and thank you letters to donors.
  11. Manage and develop effective and innovative communication and marketing plans across all platforms to successfully fundraise
  12. Attend community events, meetings, or conferences to promote organizational goals or solicit donations or sponsorships.
  13. Write speeches, press releases, or other promotional materials to increase awareness of the causes, missions, or goals of ESO’s fundraising.
  14. Meet or surpass agreed income targets


Qualifications and Skills
 

  1. A bachelor’s degree or higher academic degree.
  2. Five or more years’ experience.
  3. Strong organizational skills.
  4. Excellent leadership skills.
  5. Experience and skill in working with various stakeholders and establishing relationships with individuals and organizations of influence including funders, partner agencies and volunteers.
  6. Strategic thinking and planning to envision fundraising opportunities and work with donors.
  7. Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to donors, volunteers and the overall community.
  8. Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community.
  9. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  10. Strong public speaking ability and relationship building skills.
  11. Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.
  12. A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently.
  13. High energy and maturity.
  14. Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, donors, and other supporters.
  15. Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
